I'm going to switch to e-cigs to quit smokeless tobacco. I just bought my first e-cigarette, Vuse, at 7-11. Wish me luck. I feel good about this. Thanks, Phil!

i only found the courage to quit smoking once i made it clear to myself that the purpose / goal wasn't to quit nicotine - just to quit all the bad cancer causing other stuffs...

i'd heard of a person who substituted smoking for gum. she used to cut the pieces of gum into 4. then she's have a bit of gum with her coffee out there with the smokers. chew a bit of gum each and every time she would have had a cigarette before.

and i thought to myself: i could do that. and it seemed... possible... whereas quitting nicotine did not.

but vaporisers were still in their infant stages. they are much better developed now... pretty glass and everything...

the odd thing was... that quitting nicotine (for me) really wasn't hard. quitting smoking was, for sure. hardest thing i've ever one my whole freaking life. i think a huge part of that (for me) was around the decision to live. to stop trying to kill myself. giving up the horrible cancer causing stuff was hard. giving up nicotine... turned out to be easy.

the gum gave me digestive upset. made my stomach feel... gnawy. gave me a horrible buggy eyed and anxious feeling. made me want to f*rt. turns out nicotine doesn't much agree with me. which is odd... it surely does help with attention... but then... so does sugar. in both cases it is the crash that must be suffered through...

anyway... i don't have problems with nicotine. it just doesn't agree with me. which is kind of odd. since amphetamines surely do. and caffine. oh wells.

I think it's going to take at least a couple of weeks to make a complete switch to vaping. Smokeless tobacco is very addictive. I've been dipping for years and it is just time to drop the habit. I'm going to try limiting the amount I dip to a few times a day, vaping between. I have cut back substantially since yesterday. It's going to be hard but I believe that I can quit dipping with the help of my Vuse digital vaporizer.

Many people start with something like a cigalike. Some quit smoking with them. Most upgrade to an ego ecig(google) and then upgrade to an APV like the one I've pictured here. Why? Thousands of flavors. Battery life up to 2 or more days depending on how much you vape instead of *constantly recharging batteries*. Variable voltage-if you like a warm vape or say a juice is good but not quite, you can lower or higher your settings depending on preference. These use big 18650 batteries which store a lot of energy. The ProVari that I own, the best, cost a bit up front but if you become a hobbiest, it's one ad mofo. Built in redundant safety features. rock solid american made by the best materials. better yet go http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ and check out the newcomers forum.

I'll vape forever but if your goal is quitting, these work. If you love vaping you can order juice with no nicotine and enjoy your favorite juices with no addictive properties.

NEVER EVER EVER buy an ecig package from a mall kiosk vendor. You will get ripped off to the max.
The ecig forum has a list of APPROVED VENDORS. start there.

It isn't just nicotine in cigarettes that's addictive. BT has many surprises built in. Nic is out of your system in a few days but that's just part of the problem. You lose the hand to mouth action of smoking. There are many reasons that ecigs are the most comfortable way to quit. Nic isn't benign but I know people that drink coffee all day, same diff. No one dies of nicotine cancer, ever.
you can vape in your house and car, no stink. in fact, many juices smell awesome.

oh yes, i'm with you 100%.

i was just surprised to discover that for me, in my own case, nicotine was something that i could take or leave. quitting smoking was the hardest thing ever... but quitting the nicotine substitution didn't even feel like i was giving up anything that i wanted. which surprised me a lot.

i think it was maybe the goopy black tar that was killing me that was so hard for me to give up... once that started making it's way around my system and out... knowing that the only thing to get it to go back the hell it came from was more cigarettes...

and the new cells are all new. and vulerable, like. and the goopy black stuff upsets them something chronic. and my system still feels... upset. a bit better... but i don't feel that i've habituated to life, yet. but then that feeling of being a walking wound... has a lot to do with why i started smoking. so, huh.

i am glad that the vaporisation thing has taken off. i think it really is a wonderful idea. especially for all those nicotine addicts out there (hey, no judgement, i need my coffee!)... smoking isn't good... and there are problems with chewing tobacco etc etc... but the vapor thing is brilliant.

and they can make vaccines in tobacco plants. so... win win i guess.

Yeah, that stuff will hurt you. I grew up in small town Texas. Guys would have so much chewing tobacco in their mouth it looked like a golf ball. Drink beer at the same time.
Plus practically every pro baseball player.
I liked the flavor of Skoal(is that the name?)but I was hooked on cigs at 13. Loved those cigarettes. What a waste but what an addiction.

I tried nicorette a few times. I was in sales which meant I had to talk. I would try to 'park' that crap somewhere in my mouth but it wouldn't stay so when I talked I was accidentally chewing that stuff and would get the hiccups.
I know a lady that quit smoking for TEN years. She said she drove like a rat on crack, pissed and speeding every single day. She's on ecigs now and is doing great. LOL True story. I quit for a few weeks once and was driving 90mph on the freeway. I was mad as in crazy.

i've read all your messages guys, will respond soon

but reason im writing this because if this goes on google and is keylinked to nicotine saying it's a smart drug, and then starts smoking, i do NOT want that to happen......so this how nico works for me

1 ciggerette: a small lift in awareness, or vary mild stimulation
2: vape or a e cigg, mainly at 18mg: will lift mood, and slightly stimulates the pleasure center, that's why when someeone smokes, they look forward to having a ciggerette, depending on the situation, and it can be replaced by a vape, it's safer, much safer than the smoke tar in the lungs, you age faster, the skin start's to look older than it's natural age, and the breathe and the smell get's on the clothes on the skin, and have to carry body spray like i do which im trying to smoke less.....and transfer to the vape

so.....yes when you go to the store, and they ask which ciggertte do you want, my choice is menthol marbolorls but it's less money with the vape, depending on where you live in the US, average price is around 6-8 dollers, and in new york it's 12 dollers, no kidding.....so transfer to a vape because the liquid lasts a long time depenind on how much you puff it.....one idea that i thought, i got yhe 24mg kinda, it is INTENSE, i have to lower the dose, it's for 1-2 packs or more, my suggestion 15-16mg you won't have to puff more because more of it enters in, and thats less money for lower strengths such as 8mg....

but over all nicotine:
-small stimulant
-will stimulate some sectors of the brain, small percent aka reward center due to dopamine
-slightly something you do when your bored, i've smoked alot of times when i didnt have anything to do, smoke smoke smoke.....it's bad and i don't want to know what my lungs look like, smoked for 10 years started in 05.....

so.....caffeine or nicotine, caffeine is the main wakeup drink in the morning, nicotine is ranked in second.....

pick and choose, i love the marlboro....it's pleasant but still....choice over facts

thats all

Believe it or not, vaping was invented by a guy in the US in the early 1960's. I don't know how it worked exactly. He never copyrighted it because bad news about smoking was just coming out and most people were in denial. Vape?

A man, a pharmacist in China named Hon Lik invented ecigs as we know them today. His driving motivation was that his father was dying of lung cancer at that time.

Vaping is huge. I have never seen any industry advance so fast with millions of new products all of the time. I can buy a cartomizer today and a week later something hits and my stuff is out of date. It happens everyday! If you are a person that has to have the latest and greatest you are screwed. some people have to have the latest greatest mechanical mods and they really are cool looking. Almost art, but it adds up. Hey, if I had the cash I might buy some of those too. Just not go crazy with it. We are not smoking and however we accomplish that is great. That is ALL THAT MATTERS. little ecig or a $500 rig. If you ain't smoking then it is all for the good.
I'm using outdated technology but I'm satisfied with it. OTOH, it can be a very satisfying hobby for men and women. If you love to tinker then you have found your home.

for googlers : one last thing: nicotine is NOT euphoric at high doses, so don't think if you get alot of it that you will get buzzed, it causes agitation, irrtibility, and it not pleasant.....starts to act more like a agitation stimulant.....

that's all ...

I really don't think you have to worry about google, OK?

I vape 24 but a few vendors, or if I make my own, I will sometimes vape 36mg. I like it. It usually has a slight peppery taste depending on where you source your nic.

People go too low on nic and end up blowing through juice because they chain vape. 24 is my sweet spot.
My favorite juice for the past year, my all day vape, is Boba's Bounty from Alien Visions. His business was built with Boba's and Gorilla Juice which is Boba's with a touch of banana. Awesome! Never get tired of it.

I quit smoking 17 years ago. Before I quit, I had cut back to only 4-5 cigarettes/day. I switched to the gum and got off the cigs. 17 years later, I still chew nicotine gum several times a day.

So what? Nicotine is no more harmful than caffeine, though it's way more addictive. And I don't wake up coughing, short of breath. Nicotine replacement, whether with gum, patches, lozenges or e-digs, is a no-brainer. My doc, when I told her I still used gum, just shrugged, said, well nicotine itself is pretty harmless.

I know a few people who have quit cigs with e-cigs. They vape inside and in front of me and I'm like - so what? No secondhand smoke, no smoke at all, no bad smell. I don't get all this angst about vapng. It's simple harn reduction. More than that even, since the harms of nicotine itself, apart from addiction, are minimal.

Nicotine is strange. It mellows you out if you are stressed. If you need a shot of energy or really need to concentrate, nicotine. That's why, when you try to quit you have zero concentration. Much, much more with cigs than ecigs.
If someone googles nicotine they should just go to the forum. I'm sure the FDA has people reading it everyday. Just look at the numbers below.
We are honest there. If we think vaping is causing a health problem we talk about it and say see your doc. We WANT SAFE PRODUCTS, nothing to hide. We DON'T WANT government treating us the same way they have lied about pot for 60 effing years. We, our consumer advocates, CASAA, hired our own scientist because the FDA was not doing long term studies on vaping.
I vape less everyday. If I'm writing or cleaning I notice I haven't hit my ecig in 3 hours. Happens everyday. :)

I DIY a sweet tart juice. It's like an air freshener. I also have a wicked black licorice juice that I whip up. LOL
Anise. Food flavors, thousands of recipes online and on youtube. I love this industry.
Without boring with details my health was shot. 26 months later I can carry 30 pounds worth of groceries in each hand and walk up my 36 stairs into the apt without breaking a sweat. No coughing ever. No wheezing. Night and day.

I know some folks that chew nic gum forever. No big deal.
The FDA is trying to shut us down. All I have to say to them is they can't out fox a fox. But they will kill people just the same. Not counting thousands of small businesses with new ones opening everyday. Jobs are generated through small business in this country. It's lose/lose shutting this down just because junior might vape. good, take it away so he has to smoke. fkg morons.
A "study" published by Fox 'News' that said vaping could lead to hard drugs, I mean, c'mon. I didn't read it because I don't pollute my mind with b*llsh*t. No more!!!

Listen, Bush was a coke freak, Obama had a taste for it too. The last 3 presidents smoked pot. Now, tell me I don't have the right and god given common sense to save my life. follow the money.

Screw junior. Be a parent instead of trying to insulate him by taking the rights of everyone else. Put a $50 helmet on your 3 year old so they can ride 5' on their tricycle. I get sick of neurotic parents with too much money that take their kids to Broadway plays and top of the heap tourist attractions around the planet to make them a tiny bit more sophisticated than the neighbors kids. I guess it's easier than saying, I love you.

Because people with mental illness out smoke everyone. BT is making a plush living making cigarettes, adulterated with thousands of chemicals(some of them are made from animal tissue, bile, god only knows..vanilla, raspberry, strawberry flavors(read it or i can try to find the source on the forum)...not very Vegan is it?

yea.....if the DEA or FDA reads these posts, just gotta be honest, nicotine has been around who knows long time, it will provide a short relief from anxiety, or give a small nicotine stimultion, it's nothing like caffeine, it just slightly stimulates dopamine but indirectly, unlike amphetamine.....thats why you don't feel that "reward like" but it does work on the reward center somewhat, that's why when someone is stressed out, one time i was in bumper bumper wreck the lady got out asked for a cig, her frount part got smashed in....so yes, people smoke nicotine for the nerves, or feeling not pleasant, mainly either from stress or feeling bored... just not strongly, yet the US has alot of people smoking, i think it should stay that way, or maybe move into the direction of vaping....digital ciggerettes instead the anaolog psychical cigarettes....still i have to say i enjoy smoking marbloro's i have no idea why instead of wanting to smoke the vape, i smoke ciggs

there here and do think they should be still on the market, but maybe somehow stop selling them in large amounts, if someone wants to truely smoke, go to smoke shops, or tabacco vendors, everywhere in gas stations there cigg's....

personally i don't want it to go off the market because i still smoke once and while LOL funny....

there's way's nicotine can be consumed without using large doses to satifly, and plus like i said too much nicotine causes agitation and irrtibility, i've tried it, it's not pleasant, but first:
1)traditional way it's been for 100-50 years is in cigg form, go outside, or smoke it simply, with the figers holding it and puff it, fast or slow.....usally puffing slow is relaxing and sucking it down fast is ment for stimulation....
2)reduce the cigg scheduel to smoking all the time, chain smoking i realize actually decreases the pleasure of smoking, because your constantly doing it.....and plus nicotine is part of the body's chemisty at that point....
3)have few ciggs a day and slowly transfer to vape, adjusting the nicotine dosing, because like i said too much nicotine makes you feel irrtible and agitated......
4)keep a vape in pocket or purse, and wiff some of it down if you at work....if nicotine concentration is needed.....
5)make a plan to finally quit, but still nicotine does have it's postive factors, mood lift, slighlt stimulation, yet chain smoking is not so flattering, it reduces the pleasure of smoking and is VARY hard to quit if someone chain smokes....plus you smell like santa clause out of the chimmney

well......im just going on and on, yea vape is the best....ciggies wiggies need to take a hike somewhere else.....

I'm with you Phil, so what if teens vape. Atleast its not ciggs, and you know they are going to do something so give em the vape. I think I wrote gov about vaping too. They decided not to over regulate. I know someone who is going to work with FDA to regulate vaping or ecigs, new position.

I must say, being able to breath again is great!!

I saw a video a few days ago that was about the Isle of Man motorcycle races. All on two lane roads, 200 mph. They start the racers at 10 second intervals. This race has been going on a very long time and in one 7 day period 7 people died. 3 racers, 4 spectators. There isn't much prize money, it's all about speed and it is so freaking fast!.
The most recent winner said something like people these days are wrapped in wool and cotton where no one gets hurt. He said there are fewer ways to actually get excited about anything.

Here's the one I watched. This race makes NASCAR look tame. BTW, the guy that crashed at 1:25 lived.

Sorry, I forgot what point I was trying to make.
