My doc took me off Adderall and added Wellbutrin. I am only taking 75mg of regular Wellbutrin in the morning. But I am so tired. I miss my Adderall.
Adderall made me very irritable but was very good for my ADD issues.
Is my brain just missing my more effective Adderall or am I just not taking enough Wellbutrin?

Sheila,
I think both. Certainly you are missing the amphetamine. It took at least, say a few weeks, then a month, then a few months to really let go, both physically and psychologically of it's effects for me. But the first weeks were the most difficult. I had to be very gentle with myself for not doing and being
a,b,c....and also d, which was being real moody.I've heard a term used like 'chasing the high'. That could sound like one was willfully seeking, but I don't think that's what
it means. If you know physically and mentally what that stim did for you and how it felt, it sets a high bar. That also doesn't mean your body and head can't readjust and do well. When I finally withdrew from dexedrine, it was also with some other medication, but even so, I hadn't realized what an irritant it was to my system. I both mourned it's loss and said, whew!
And maybe you could add more Wellbutrin. You certainly have room. Your doc sounds good. I'm assuming
s/he is helping you through this. This really will pass Sheila. It's the hard part imo, right now. Letting go of the adderall. Best wishes to you.

Thank you! I agree. I think I am missing the Adderall. I just feel like I am stuck on the couch and cannot do a thing. I can't even focus enough to read.
Maybe my doc will up the Wellbutrin and that will help.
In the meantime, I do really miss my Adderall. :(

75mg of Welbutrin is a subtheraputic dose - most people need 300mg/day to get a response.
Generaly, Welbutrin is less effective than amphetamines for ADHD, but you are probably experiencing some "letdown" or withdrawl symptoms from the Adderal as well.
I'd try and get the Welbutrin to 300mg, and give in a couple of weeks at that dose, beforwe giving up. By that time, you should be over any withdrawl symptoms, and be able to make a rational assessment of what Welbutrin is doing for you.

If Wellbutrin doesn't have enough oomph, you can always go back to Adderall, or I guess try another stimulant (Ritalin, maybe?). When do you start bumping your wellbutrin dose?
