In reply to Adderall withdrawl? Wellbutrin?, posted by sheilac on June 9, 2011, at 9:40:43
Sheila,
I think both. Certainly you are missing the amphetamine. It took at least, say a few weeks, then a month, then a few months to really let go, both physically and psychologically of it's effects for me. But the first weeks were the most difficult. I had to be very gentle with myself for not doing and being
a,b,c....and also d, which was being real moody.I've heard a term used like 'chasing the high'. That could sound like one was willfully seeking, but I don't think that's what
it means. If you know physically and mentally what that stim did for you and how it felt, it sets a high bar. That also doesn't mean your body and head can't readjust and do well. When I finally withdrew from dexedrine, it was also with some other medication, but even so, I hadn't realized what an irritant it was to my system. I both mourned it's loss and said, whew!
And maybe you could add more Wellbutrin. You certainly have room. Your doc sounds good. I'm assuming
s/he is helping you through this. This really will pass Sheila. It's the hard part imo, right now. Letting go of the adderall. Best wishes to you.
