Yup, I don't see how there'd be an interaction.

Although I can't assure you that there is no contraindication to combining Lyrica with a MAOI, I have not come across anything that would lead me to believe that there would be an adverse reaction to the combination.
Have you ever combined Lyrica with Cymbalta? Perhaps it would help with both pain and depression.

Thanks ggg & SLS. I'm discontinuing cymbalta because of adverse GI sides. Too bad, because it really helps with the pain. With such a strong side, there isn't much AD effect anyhow.
Thanks for the suggestion :)

Scott,
Effexor works on fibro-like pain for real (for some, of course)? I've heard but not really believed.
I could try a sideways....
fb
(If necessary, could I cross taper or outright switch to one of the tca's? )
(Thanks :/ )

My physiatrist has me hanging out at 30mg. Less nausea, same pain relief.
I see my pdoc Tuesday. I can hang out in a med-limbo for quite awhile. Very slow moving around here.
I WANTED to jettison the cymbalta....
Sigh.

FB in all honesty I just do not know? But the fibro is truly the dx? I ask as quite a few years ago a doc tried to say I had it but didn't have the trigger points? Do they still diagnose by trigger points? Massage or accupunture is also worth a shot? Phillipa

If you are after pain relief, Id look into desipramine. MAOIs already push GABA a bit.
Although, if you have fibro pain it may be coming from under-treated depression and treating the depression may resolve the pain.
Im on wellbutrin / zoloft and thats helped my pain. Seems that mine came from depression itself =(

Hi Creepy,
Thanks :) I'm going to try Lyrica. And I think your point about under-treated depression is really good. I still think I want to try a maoi. Asap, I want to be on Emsam. And hopefully Lyrica will help (pain can get triggered when I experience emotional spikes as well.) If this fails, I'll try the tca's.
(My pdoc doesn't like to use maois. It was a verbal wrestling match to get his agreement. I sure hope I get some relief--and I can start using the behaviors that will help me feel better! Like leaving the house... :)
Thanks.

EmSam is not always as effective as Nardil, Parnate, or Marplan.
And there's no concern about "pushing GABA", that's a bunch of hooey in this context.

O wretched man, we who are born alone and imperfect, whom canst live without the company of Our Maker In Absentia, yet fail ceaselessly to find her, whom then, in turn, find companionship and succor amongst like creatures, we being amongst them thank the dear readers of this document in your hand. By some trick of fate, we few have been left, isolate and desolate here on Cymbalta
Island, whilst that tiny glass ship found it's way into your civil hands. Had the cursed such as us have had this selfsame luck.A terrific storm splintered our tiny ship against rocks just beyond the breakers. Water and froth lashed winds had rendered our visibility to a mere 3 feet beyond one's face, and we were unable,
despite our captain's truly heroic efforts to weather the storm.Half the crew has perished while nearly a
quarter wander, witless over the barren landscape, calling out piteously for phantom loved ones, and for the worst of which, already finding comfort upon the bosum of such fantastic company. By turns, the small remaider of us stopper our ears lest we, too, are driven mad by their cries and gibberish, and by turns serving and comforting them best as we can, at length some making effort to briefly sham the part of such lost ones just to comfort those whom fate has driven mad.Several have been the attempts made by crudely lashing together what remains of
our splintered hull with rope to gain past 15mg South toward a tranquil island fabled to lie thereabouts.Presently, us remaining who have wit to
spare, wait and pray that Lyrica, our sister ship, will find us and take us safely to berth.God Save Our Souls.

That was tremendous but I worry that the good ship Lyrica may not be able to deliver you from the desolation of Cymbalta Island.
Gabpentin is useful to me in small doses for sleep and sociability and would also be very good for pain, so you should get that much from Lyrica.
More may not be better.
