Hi
Am taking Seroquel for bipolar depression as well as usual Lithium/Tegretol
I experience absolutely no side effects from Seroquel.
Everyone tells me how sedating it is??
What are other experiences on this drug?
Wondering now if it is actually working
Sam

> SamHi Sam,
I understand you take Seroquel for the treatment of bipolar depression. Doses between 300 mg and 600 mg are needed. The usual side effects of Seroquel are sedation, fatigue and weight gain (tolerable, not like Zyprexa). The sedation is worst with the XR version because it stays in your blood all day long.

Thanks for the info Goering. What I'm concerned about is the fact that I'm on Tegretol which interacts with Seroquel which renders Seroquel almost useless. The dr has reassured me it is ok, but my research says otherwise. I was wondering if my lack of side effects was due to the increased metabolism of seroquel. I'm armed and ready with literature to show the dr. Wondering if anyone has had experience with this. Sam

I don't know you, but Seroquel and Lithium should be enough to control the highs. But Tegretol has its place too if you have a borderline personality.
