Well,
I've lost my insurance. I've tried to see if there were any free med programs for Ambien, but it appears there aren't any. I have a valid prescription, but need to find the best/cheapest place to buy. Any suggestions? I need a USA drug store. Not interested in over seas or import. I take 10 mg. Why hasn't this drug gone generic? It has been out forever.
Dr. Bob, I hope it isn't wrong to ask this. Please forgive me if it is.

Dear MB,
>Why hasn't this drug gone generic?
I don't know. It's been available as a generic in the UK for ages. Perhaps you could switch to a cheaper sleep aid. What have you tried so far?
Are you going to continue your meloxicam and irbesartan? Perhaps you could replace irbesartan with hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg, it's very cheap.

Also, sanofi-aventis does patient assistance applications over the phone. From their Ambien website:
"For all other (US) sanofi-aventis Pharmaceuticals Rx products, if you are inquiring about prescription drug assistance or patient Rx discounts, please contact the sanofi-aventis US Patient Assistance Center at 1-800-221-4025. Patent approved 1992. No generic available.

Well OK, 'ages' was an exaggeration!

I overcame massive anxiety to post again, and I'm not sure that it's a good idea for me.

I'm not sure what I can say to ease your anxiety and encourage you to continue to post here, but it sure is a pleasant experience to see your name appear again.

Ed,
My doctor gave me a few samples of the irbesartan. I am doing VERY well on a small dose. BP was 128/78 or something like that. I had to go to Celebrex for the arthritis. The Mobic bothered my stomach and I had to increase the Prilosec which caused a dramatic increase in my depression! So I had to drop back down to 20mg of Prilosec a day instead of 40. I was wondering if vitamin absorption might have something to do with it? The higher Prilosec dose really made me feel bad.
I'm trying to make it on samples for a few months (for blood pressure and arthritis meds). I'm on a very low dose of Celebrex. Not enough to help enough, but better than nothing.
Ambien has been the best sleep aid for me. I develop tolerance to it, so I only take it a few times a week usually. It is still expensive.

Lar,
Thank you so much! I went to their website, but didn't see this information. I'm under a lot of stress and not thinking too clearly.
I'll have to check out pparx.

Hi MB,
The Celebrex and irbesartan sound good :-)
Do you have enough samples to keep you going for a while?

Ed,
I think I have enough of those two for several weeks. My family doc has said to call if I need more. It is the Ambien that is hard to get. Well, expensive and no free samples.
Hoping hubby gets a job SOON!
