Hi,
I take 20mg of Parnate. I need to switch to Nardil. Have you got any ideas how to do it smoothly and less harmful? I am afraid of wash out period and depression returning. I don't know whether I could get addicted to such a low dose of Parnate?

> /ixusHi, I did the crossover with no washout. I know everyone else usually does one. But my pdoc said I didn't need to. I dont't know if he was right or not. 20 mg of Parnate is low and it has a short half-life so maybe bring in down to 10 mg for a couple of days and do the switch. Nardil is powerful so it should get you back on your feet quickly.
Good luck to you.

Hi Ixus
So you found Parnate to be too jittery, that's why you want to change? Any other problems? Sleep OK? I'd like to try (relatively) low dose Parnate.

Hi Declan,
anxiety is a major problem indeed. I cannot go above 30 mg. However Parnate is a miracle drug for me too. It relieved my hypersomnia. I sleep 7-8 hours even at 20 mg. Concentration ability improved dramatically. It may be that I will come back to Parnate if Nardil is not working well.

Hi Maxime,
I think I will use your hints. I am not afraid of serotonin syndrome. I just need to know whether I have any withdrawal symptoms or not. I don't wanna blame Nardil side effects profile for this later.
How are you doing atm? Is Nardil working for you?

I didn't react very well to the Nardil and so I had to stop it. It made me very dizzy and I was throwing up. I am back to the Parnate now and titrating up to old dosage. I hope it works. The only reason I stopped taking it was because it stopped working. But now I think it was because of something else ... my asthma med.
I hope Nardil works for you. :-) Do keep us posted!
