Ive been taking remeron 15mg for 10 days. I noticed after the first dose, I felt really irritable and it hasnt gone away since. Im supposed to increse to 30mg but I will wait for some imput. I was really depressed, thinking about dying all day every day before remeron. Im really conserned because besides this fact it has really lessend my depression/anxiety. What property of this med could cause irritability? Noradrenalin? Would the dose increse worsen or lessen it? Can I add anything to counteract it? Has anbody had success in this area? Ive tried other ADs with varying degrees of success and side effects. I'd like to keep the remeron, I think I feel the most normal with it, no sex disfunction and stuff. I'd like to thank every one who posts in these forums, thanks for the help.

The irritability is a normal side affect, it usually lasts about 3 weeks. Not sure what causes it but I sure know how it feels going through it. I was super nasty and mean for the first three weeks on Rem. I increased from 15 mg to 30 mg after two weeks. One week after that the irritability was gone. Hope this helps.

I also experienced irritation on Remeron. I remember feeling like I was floating around, and I stumbled around the first few days on it (15mg). I think I was frustrated b/c of feeling that like, like all I wanted to do was to get grounded and it wouldn't let me do that. It got better as I got used to it. Took a few weeks.
