Eric: I'm sorry you are in the hospital. A lot of time when I think something has permanently damaged something, the side effect goes away after time (like my Nardil side effect are not completely gone, but mostly gone now and it's been 4 months I think since I quit Nardil). The other hard piece of this illness is that it progresses also and so it is hard to determine (at least for me) what's what. I hope things calm down for you and that you are out of the hospital soon.

Thanks. Today they let me take a shower and I blacked out and cracked my skull on the wall, so right now the only medications I've been interested in are Darvasettes and Valiums.

Er,

Sounds like a nightmare. I have no wisdom to offer you--just wishes for a better day tomorrow.

Er,
Hang in there man. Apart from allegorical evidence, I really don't know if there is any clinical evidence that that any AD can any long-term damage to your brain. Sometime a person's adverse reactions to drugs can last weeks, e.g. Effexor withdrawal, even though Effexor has a short half-life and is gone relatively quickly when stopped. So just work under the assumption that you will completely recover. Try to make the most of your stay in the hospital where you get taken care of and don't have to deal with the pressures of ordinary life; plus you can flirt with the nurses.

Eric, my e-mail address is isomorphix@hotmail.com

E-mail me if you wish, I'm not so reluctant about my e-mail address being up now that I've set up filters. I took Luvox for a while & while it worked well, the discontinuation was pretty bad. I'll send you some humour (clean) & other interesting bits to make your hospital stay hopefully pass quicker.

Dear Eric,

It says alot to me, that you would remember the PB community even while in close, physical proximity of living, breathing persons who share our unique condition.
I hope you take advantage of whatever friendship they too can offer, as the sacred circle surrounding you grows wider, pillar by pillar.

take care,
trouble

Yes, don't be so quick to think that your brain may be permanently damaged. I went through a terrible period after quitting Depakote, severe
memory loss...I couldn't remember what I had for breakfast, I couldn't recall familiar words, sometimes whole days were wiped out of my memory.
It was sad and frightening, but I did get better veerrrry slowly, over a number of months.
Since I have just gotten out of the hospital myself, I can empathize with your lonliness and boredom. It's kind of silly to say, "Keep busy" because there are such a limited number of things to do, but take advantage of any counseling, classes, or programs available. Write letters and talk to other patients. Do puzzles or play cards or whatever games they have available. Read books,
make phone calls, plan for the future, and be determined that you WILL get better.
Best wishes-
Gracie

Yeah, I'm out for a few days now. Panic Disorder says they, psychosomatic? Man that word is no joke, I'm like a jerking switching chattering flailing machine! I have been given Ativan to keep it under any control at night...I'm not taking it tonight, I'm trying to see how long it goes if I don't, trying to experiment with my mind...how much can I control it...if I can't, at what point will it stop itself? We shall see...I'm no lay-down Sally. The upshot of everything is that I'm off all medication, except Methylphenidate which will soon be switching to Adderal XR.

Hey ER,
I really hope you start feeling better soon. What awful experience. Keep us posted, ok?
