Fumes

The cat sits by me
On the arm of the sofa
Looks expectantly at me
Hoping maybe for some salmon
A shrimp
A scallop

I purse my lips and
Blow a kiss at her

She sniffs the air
Expecting promises of
Snacks to come

Instead

Whiskers flatten
Skinny cat lips curl
Eyes blink in unpleasant surprise

Wino breath again

Ewwww.
