Today is a day for sayings (I encountered a few of them).

The one that comes to mind is

'One death is a tragedy. Many deaths is a statistic'. Can't remember who said that, sorry.

We can't grieve properly for them all
There isn't enough time and emotional resources.
It is a fact of life
(Though it may seem cold)
That life must go on for the living.
