Thank you Jai. Of course the subject of this poem is about Sean (a "black" irishman like Atticus) but I feel this one is less acerbic than some of the others. I just feel that love in the end defies complete analysis. I still feel such a longing for him that is not fully conscious (a source of distress and confusion for my friends and family) and is inexplicable to me, the self-torture and self-humiliation I suffer when I contact him. I'm trying hard not to contact him; the last time was July 3rd. Evidently for some the memory of a lost love may provide the sweetness of an entire life. I'm not in that camp. Usually I feel bitter rage, unhappiness and morbid despair. It truly sucks.
However I must say that after discovering this site and being able to get some of this out has helped me tremendously.malthus
