I'm assuming you're asking how to approach the subject in terms of getting a job, rather than how to fix your credit rating?
Here's what I would recommend: see a career counselor if you can, to ask about it, but since that's really not a quick and dirty (and cheap) option, how about making an appointment to speak to someone at a good employment agency? Just call, make the appointment as though you're a regular applicant, and then ask -- say something like, "I have one difficulty I'm not sure how to address? My husband made some bad financial decisions, and put us into BK. It seems as though that's coming up in the pre-employment screening. Can you recommend a way to deal with that, so that it doesn't count against me so much?"
That's pretty much what I would do, in that situation. (I would probably not go to an agency I was trying to get work through, unless I already knew them. Silly, ain't it?)
Hope that helps.
