.. I would love to come off my xanax completely but after so many years find it next to impossible. went from 3mg to 1.75mg. and don't know if I can go further than that. My quality of life was horrible the whole year I was taking valium in place of xanax and weaning off the valium. Benzos can be helpful but they sure do turn on you when you try to withdraw! ever so slowly too, .03mg. liquid measured out still drove me crazy at 11mg. valium had to go back to xanax. :-(
I had no trouble with Xanax (a small amount, and
taken perhaps somewhat shorter than K). However, someone told me that I had no trouble with Xanax because while withdrawing from that, I was "covered" by Klonopin. I am not sure that is true. I think that Klonopin would have been hard anyway, because I took it for a long time every day, unlike Xanax (for once in a while, intermittent panic) and also because it is so much more potent.I think that it may be wise to forget about giving up any drug if it causes such distress and even the possibility of seizure.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
I sympathize with your efforts. And I think, yes, after some years there is a limit beyond which you cannot go in withdrawal.
