Scott:In case you are interested:
1. During the whole tapering period from remeron I experienced withdrawl symptoms(physical and mental) within 3 days after coming off.
2.after stopping Remeron totally, again withdrawl symptoms within 3-5days.
3. worst of the symptoms physically were diminished after 2months.
4. depression anxiety episodes during tapering and stopping.
5. After 2months off, episodes of depression/anxiety lessened.
6. These mood swings werent as strong or as frequent
7. After 4months off Remeron mood alot more stable but still get bouts of down/anxiety episodes.
8. Agitation has been gradually less, a nasty side effect i experienced since on Remeron.
9. Sleep patterns returned to normal after about 2months off Remeron.
10. appetite returned to normal after 2months off
11. Wt gained from remeron(45lbs), took 4months to see a significant loss. Have lost all the wt except for 5lbs.
12. Clearer headed, after 3months off Remeron
13. Foggy brain episodes lasted for the first 3-4months off Remeron. Now less episodes , maybe once per week instead of every day or every other day.
14. Some more anxiety in the past week with anxiety symptoms since month 3 off compared to now 4.5months off.All during tapering and after stopping remeron have used acupuncture extensively .. to smooth out the mood and calm the anxiety ,... have now decreased frequency of visits
NO other meds/ were used to cope with the anxiety/depressive symptoms or insomnia.
took herbal relax while on Remeron to off set the terrible agitation I got while on it.Im told that The half life of Remeron is 37hrs for females, 24 for males.. and that this is also generally speaking. Also depends on body wt, sex , age and individual metabolisms.
so this could vary.Thats it for me..
Been on a detox now for over a month, doing the program for 2months in my case.musky

> The average half life of Remeron is about 30 hours. Most of it should clear the body in about a week. I don't doubt that somatic withdrawal symptoms appear by that time. Noepinephrine levels should probably ebb by two weeks, and I would think that any withdrawal depression should begin to surface by then. I can't say for sure, though, because I never was on Remeron long enough to experience a withdrawal syndrome for myself. I would like to hear from others who came off of Remeron when their withdrawal depressions started and what course they took. I think this stuff really has to be evaluated empirically.
