just knowing that at least one other person had or has the same symptom helps me. what i've read on this board is that almost everyone has dizziness, but no one has described the awful spinning (or maybe i've missed it). it makes sense that it's my tapering off effexor that's causing it. i never experienced vertigo like this, even in its milder form, until i cut down the dosage. i'm considering dividing up my daily dose--taking 1/2 in the AM, 1/2 in the early afternoon--if i continue to have big problems.

i expect to taper off in no less than a year, if not 2. it took 12 years for my BP to rise and my brain chemistry to be affected. i'm trying not to be impatient about getting off this stuff.
