not mdma but meth - possibly the same consequences

In reply to mdma brain damage are you suffering too? « jamesn, posted by Dr. Bob on November 18, 2003, at 23:57:13

I didn't do mdma. I smoked ice for six months on the weekends thinking it was no big deal. Boy was I wrong. One night I had a massive anxiety attack accompanied by eurythmic vibrations all throughout my body. I started having these vibrations all the time - including in my sleep where I'd be almost paralyzed for a minute and then wake up and shake it off. The doctors kept telling me I was suffering from panic attacks. The thing is that they don't come out of the blue. It is a constant state of irritability, numbness in my arms and legs, tightness in my face, jitteriness, don't sleep well at night, and feeling these weird vibrations that seem to start in my head or chest and move throughout my body. I cannot concentrate. This is daily, and the only thing that helps is Ativan which the doctors had me on for six months and then took me off of it because of my previous drug use. My doctor suggested that I might be bipolar and prescribed celexa and zyprexa. I woke up from the Zyprexa with extreme anxiety, couldn't see straight, and had a panic attack so I never took it again after the first try. Then I tried Depakote and Gabitril. I am currently taking Wellbutrin (six weeks now) and Seroquel (two weeks at 25 mg). There has been absolutely no change and I can't really tell if I am any worse. I am finding myself wanting to run to the ER in hopes they'll prescribe Ativan. Has anything helped you? I believe I have depleted dopamine or possible partail seizures due to the meth use or maybe some other type of nerve damage. I did not experience any of these symptoms before I used meth and lived a completely normal life. I know it is possible that meth could have brought out an underlying illness, but I find that difficult to believe. Does anyone out there experience these symptoms? I am very desperate for help.
