I feel bad about things I have said about Dame Valarie.
I was speaking from a position of ignorance. It is true. I would have admitted that at the time. I was not wedded to any of my opinions, I expressed them, as that.
The more I look into it...
Sigh. The trouble is that often, in these parts, you are not allowed to function at all, even less succeed, without the permission of.. All the various people you are supposed to acknowledge (else you will not be granted permission at all).
I mean to say...
Her transition from overt fat to muscled weight...
Her transition from chuck the put.. To styled technique...
These were things that happened as she was allowed more autonomy over the choices that she made.
As she was able to ditch a coach and move forwards... As she was allowed to invest in things she saw merit in (technique wise etc).
And that's a thing.
Really.
She is a motivation and inspiration to all the people (both men and women) of the world. For what she has accomplished and achieved. Because of various people who have helped her along the way. And also in spite of various people who were 'helping' who she needed to navigate.. . No shortage of them, in these parts...
