I guess it would be easier if I actually felt dizzy. But I have felt fine for a couple of weeks until yesterday when they provoked the vertigo to prove the diagnosis.
Still, I'm hopeful that soon they will tell me that I can do the maneuver. It's got a very high success rate and I've never had BPPV before so it may not recur at all. I hope not.
At any rate, I felt much better after hearing that even though I wasn't in bed when it happened, I had just gotten up. It happens much more frequently in bed because lying on one side for a length of time can let the little crystals work their way into the wrong spot. So I'm not likely to just fall to the floor randomly throughout the day even if it does recur. It also might help if I keep my high caffeine and salt intake lower, he said. So that gives me a bit more feeling of control.
