Lots of people (m/f) hate a tongue in the mouth. It may be related to childhood stuff.
If your SO HATES it, don't force the issue, and don't consider them a bad kisser. Maybe consider them wounded? If you are willing....get to know him/her and in time, ask why. If you love him/her, be willing to take time to work on it.
