Thanks guys!
After doing some research (and remembering that it really is a rapidly depreciating investment) I decided not to get a new computer at this moment. Maybe if it breaks again... It costs me a fair amount of lost work time.
I simply can't afford what I want. And with L coming out soon, and Windows not even mentioning Vista in their L advertisements (they refer to us loving XP and don't mention Vista at all), it seems like a bad time to buy.
After this repair, surely it will be another year or so before it breaks again. I hope.
At least I back up religiously. Knock wood.
