First thing you have to know, is the connection is secure (i'm not being sarcastic, in some neighboorhoods people just know how to read wireless signals, wired connections are better, cable modem, broadband. Yet wireless are the #1 use in popularity today.
Do you have a CD to install the wireless, to the computer to the router? then it takes you processes? to the connection? or it's just scratch.
First thing, make sure the wireless modem has been plugged into the modem (cable Charter, whoever provides internet for your service), and also into the back of the laptop/pc to recieve signals from the modem - wireless router - Computer. Then, after that, program the password, and the signal strenth. I'm telling you the security make it high, encrupted password. Write down, never foget it. If you lose the connection, simply, pull the computer's signal picking up the router, type the password. If the computer is older, the USB "slots" are used to read signals from the wireless router.
I've called Linksys, it's going in cicles, rj is fun to watch, he goes in circles. "Ok what's the 2 nenond step again, (it's step 6)) Get what i mean??
Or directly plug you modem into your comupter to make sure it's reciving data. If not, (in my case i spent hours, just to find out, hey nightboorhood! stop using so much net!!)
There is a connection on the back of your wireless, that say's internet, you plug that from the modem into the wireless port's (internet port). After that port 1234, use port 1 (A big yellow, or blue cord, and connect it to your computer/lap, and program the device connection.
