Are you comfortable in saying why she only has three years? Is that definite? Could it be sooner?
I've taken in dogs with medical problems before. And aside from cost, I've never regretted it. It's really hard going into it knowing that all you can do is make what time she has as special as possible. But if you can draw that line in the sand for yourself, what could be more fulfilling than helping give a dog the best three years of her life?
I would check to make really sure they've temperament checked her though. Some of those puppy mill breeders are kept in awful conditions and are undersocialized. Some dogs never do regain the ability to bond, some end up as fear biters, and some have other temperament problems. Health problems are plenty enough to hurdle. If she has attachment problems, three years may not be enough time to overcome that.
The advantage of rescue groups, though, is that they usually do temperament check.
