Since my daughter's MCS (Multiple Chemical Senstivities) our Christmas holidays have been vastly different.

When she was living in our home, she could only go in the bathroom & 2 other rooms (her room & the kitchen) without reacting badly, so couldn't even be in the living room, where we usually 'do' Christmas morning. We couldn't have a real tree, as smell of it would bother her. Couldn't have an artificial tree, as smell from it (off-gassing of plastics, etc) would bother her.

Now that she hasn't been living here, it's an over-2-hour drive....travelling in a vehicle is a problem due to smell of materials in vehicle & if window open, smell of exhaust of car & other vehicles. So she doesn't come here to visit.

Also, over the last few years, DH & I have sort of said to each other what we want. I always get him something in addition, so that he can open something that he doesn't know what it is. Last year, he just got me what I'd written on a list. Didn't get even one thing that I didn't know about. I dunno. I'm very jaded about holidays this year. Don't want to do that this year.

Last year my son got me a lovely watering can. I loved getting it, as it meant he had thought 'hmm what might Mom like? She loves her flowergarden -so...' It meant a lot to me.
