So far, I have planted Dahlias, Asiatic Lilies, Siberian Iris, nasturtium, sunflowers
and herbs (catnip, dill, oregano, basil, purple basil, borage, chives, parsley, thyme)
and tomatoes
sweet olive, yellow pear, black krim. I figure i can get the regular ol' red tomatoes at the farmer's market, right?I have dug a border around the big bed, ripped out sod to make a new bed for my sunflowers, and tilled the raised tomato bed, adding fertilizer and wood ash, where needed. Soil is somewhat acid. but otherwise good dirt.
I'm even keeping a journal so that I know when to do what to the garden. next week I will buy patio containers for the rest of the herb seeds that I haven't planted yet. Apparently sage is a perennial, which means that it gets a special spot.
I'm also fertilizing the daffodils and hyacinth this year, so that next year their display will be equally bright.
thanks for tomato tips. I will definitely be using them. It's still a bit on the cool side though.
