my first garden

I've never had a garden before, just some potted plants. Now I'm thinking about upgrading, since I haven't yet managed to kill the orchid or the palm inside.
There's a nice perennial bed in the sun and a raised bed. I'm thinking about planting herbs in sunny containers on the deck and tomatoes in the raised bed. also to tuck some herbs in around the perennials. I like herbs-- they make summer cooking so much more vibrant.
I was thinking about getting 3 dwarf tomato plants- one red and big, one yellow pear and one red cherry. Does this sound like a good salad yet?
mmm salad. (she says, after eating her 3rd serving of ice cream today)
Ice cream special today because I was feeling so down.
