Hi Paul,

I like what CS said.

I find it helps me sometimes, to have sort of 'pictures' or things I can visualize. One I'm currently using is if I am worrying, I say to myself "I'm not going to think about this right now; I'll think about it later, when I decide to." And then I picture a filing cabinet & imagine opening a drawer, getting a file folder out, putting my worry into it, putting it back & closing the drawer. Then later on, I do make a time to give the worry some thought.

With regard to the type of situation you describe, I might imagine, before even going out, that I'm stepping into a large bubble of light, which will remain around me as I go through my day. I would then have the idea that the outside of the bubble has the property of letting only good, pleasing, positive, friendly vibes through it, coming towards me. Anything else just bounces right off it & doesn't come close to me at all. If I'm in a situation where I might feel negative stuff, I think about my bubble & am aware that any negative stuff is just going to bounce off it.

:-) Kath

PS - you sound like a very sensitive person & we sensitive people might be sort of "too open" to the stuff around us & can be affected negatively by it.
