In reply to Boring ... Need stainless steel sink cleaner, posted by Fivefires on March 30, 2007, at 17:10:57
I posted a big long answer the other day & must have forgotten to click the second time!! It's not here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-( I hate it when that happens.
Anyway, BAking soda is a superb cleaner.
wet sink, sprinkle baking soda on; leave for 5 minutes or so & rub with a 'scrubbie' - rectangular sponge with green scrubbie slightly abrasive pad on it.
The other day my counter had a big stain on it that wouldn't simply wipe off. I wet it; sprinkled Baking soda on it; left it for about half an hour, wiped it off & was prepared to scrub it but it was GONE!!!!
Lemon juice also is a good stain remover.
We use SO MANY TOXIC cleaning products in our society. My daughter (30) developed environmental illness (MCS - Multiple Chemical Sensitivities). There are only 3 rooms in my house that don't make her feel ill. She has to wear a special mask to go shopping or even in my car.
This has made me VERY aware of all the chemicals we surround ourselves with & put ON our bodies (creams, deodorants, etc, etc....even the shampoo we use). I don't know about other parts of the world, but in Ontario (Canada) we are simply BOMBARDED with 'scented' products - room "fresheners"; air "purifiers" etc, etc....even CD players that "play" scents!!!
And it's ALLLLLLLL CHEMICALS!!!! Yikes.Sorry for my rant.
Deep breath Kath!! Baking soda rocks!!
luv, Kath
