> Ahhhhhhhhhhh The Pinery!:-) Yes, I spent many summers of my youth there.

********I think this is about the 25th year in a row that I've been to the Pinery!!! OH MY GAWD!!! How can that be????? It totally boggles my mind!******

I fell in love a few times there, (even if they didn't love me..lol..).had my heart broken as many times. *******AWWWW - how old were you? It's a pretty special place. I have big-deal guilt because one year we let my son (about 12 then) bring a friend & it was pretty hairy. So for the next few years we didn't let him bring anyone & he had a rotten time & now I feel SOOO guilty about it. I wish I'd been more flexible & generous. Oh dear.*****

..and if you go there in the early Spring or later Fall (which I might do), you likely will come across deer roaming the forest and by the roads.
******Even in the summer we frequently saw deer. This year we didn't. Unfortunately (in my opinion) they ( the biologists I guess) have been trying to diminish the deer population. They actually let hunters in I think it was 2 years ago. (Isn't that awful - here the poor deers are going about their business feeling perfectly safe & protected & all of a sudden DEATH on 2 legs) Anyway, they also have "burn-offs" where they do contolled burns. They are trying to 'protect' the Oak Savanah - it's quite nice with long flowing grass & tall trees, but I dont know - I sorta freak about shooting & burning!!!! I guess the deer eat the small oak tree shoots & stuff. Maybe someone here is a biologist & I don't mean to insult them!! Anyway, this year we didn't see ANY deers at all & what the heck is the Pinery without seeing deer, especially at dusk when you ALWAYS could count on seeing them!! Oh well.******

Canoeing on the river that runs through the park is wonderful.
****Yeah I know! I set up my chair right beside that river & chilled & took some photos & read. It was pretty nice.******
Oh those memories...<sigh>...whatever happened to them, to me?...
