I'm so o glad to hear, Kath, that your son reconnected with this friend, who seems solid, and has found a more secure footing, especally a job.
Staying grounded about him-- trying to have faith that over time things can improve, even if there are rocky times, too-- but just having faith, and letting it be-- it's hard, I know, especially with a child -- but you'll probably do the best for him, as well as yourself and your family, that way.
I checked pictures of Bruce Trail last night on google-- a great place to spend a week. So many different scenes-- and interesting local settings. Farms, too- there was a photo of a few pigs--very close-up, kind of funny, unexpected.
I'm going to Vermont for a few days soon, and I'm looking forward to seeing the woods, sky, just absence of tall cement and glass buildings, no cars on the winding roads. And doing some hiking.
Hope you have a great time--getting away from worries, and into the pleasure of experiencing and exploring and relaxing.
