My husband & I are going to a rented cottage tomorrow (Sat).
Going to Barrow's Bay on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario.
We do a lot of hiking on the Bruce Trail. I'm looking forward to it & now the weather has cooled down, thank goodness.
Heard from my son yesterday. He said he'd been doing his "needle sweep" (his job cleaning the streets of dirty needles with the street 'outreach' group) & someone from behind him called, "Hey - is your name -----?" & my son turned around & here it was his really good friend, Dave, from when he was in BC when he was about 17! So meanwhile, Dave has his own company restoring high-rise concrete buildings. He hired my son, who called me yesterday, after his second day on the job. He is really enthusiastic & said he worked really hard & wanted to prove himself. He gets $10/hr to start & works 6 days a week. That's good, because it'll keep him busy & occupied while he's in the first part of not using chemicals. It's been a month now. He had been rather worried about the next couple of months. Dave told him that he was pleased with his work & that there's plenty of room for advancement. I am cautiously optimistic. My counsellor says it's really important for me to keep on an even keel; particularly when I'm speaking to my son, but just in general ABOUT my son.
So that's nice news for me & makes me feel more positive & thankful & relaxed to go away for a holiday!
:-) Will post when I get back.
:-) Kath
