I think you're right; there is some comfort in "labeling"-I have panic disorder, so when I feel really awful, I can say to myself, "guess why? Because you have panic disorder" But your inferred point, do I really know anything more about what's happening with me by labeling it than just saying it's the way I am, is a good one, I think.

My cat is my therapist. When I'm in bad shape, she comes over and sits next to me, on me, whatever and purrs and purrs. She knows...
