Hi Deneb,
I can understand your fears. Has something happened recently that is causing you to be particularly afraid right now?
I know this is going to sound trite, but learning to cope with loss and death is part of life. I have lost both my mother and father, and, yes, both losses were (and, in some ways, still are) the most difficult, painful experiences of my life, but somehow I have survived. I believe that, after you have found a therapist with whom you feel comfortable, and after you've worked with that doctor for a while, you will become more confident in yourself and in your ability to endure the pain of loss. You will also learn to trust more people, and you will be able to form close friendships with people outside of your family. Eventually, you will build a support system outside of your family of origin, and you will probably have your own family some day. While there will never be anyone like your mother and father, the other people you love and who love you will be just as important in a different way, and they will be able to help soften some of life's blows.
Unfortunately, there is really no way to avoid loss and the pain it causes, but as you change, you will find that you can and you will survive.
