Yes, I went out to the market this morning. And yes, there were heaps of tarts sending beacons straight into my brain. It wasn't pretty, even from a distance.
I purchased the minimum allotment, six tarts (in one of those really durable clear trays with the fold-over lids). They come in sixs. Six for $6. If you don't get here soon, your two will already be my two. And the two for auction....well.....what two? <wink>
I had a little conversation with the vendor.
I thought the tarts too tender to travel. But I am labouring under a misapprehension.
I am not the first to ponder the transport of these delicate but magic morsels.
The process is to freeze the little beggars solid, and to ship them overnight express. Apparently, successful shipments to the U.S. are being done. Large shipments go out with some regularity. Or so I am told.
I didn't know you could ship prepared foods across the border. Maybe they're not declared? Maybe you don't have to declare anything special?
So, perhaps, with the appropriate begging strategy, I can be convinced to cooperate?
