Ya, it's weird isn't it? It's almost like having a split personality! I can be really outgoing and have no problem making conversation, getting into political debates, talking about current events, being silly and talking nonsense or even trying to make a new person feel at ease when there are people around with whom I am comfortable. Put me in a situation with people I don't know, and I freeze. I don't avoid those types of social situations though. I just find them stressful and exhausting. I continue to work on being more comfortable in all social situations.

> I relate so much to your next message to Angel Girl about the stress of socializing. I feel exactly the same way. Sometimes when I'm forced into social situations (like work or when friends have something that includes a lot of others) I do really well. I have a good sense of humor and when I'm comfortable enough for that to come out, (and I can relate somewhat to the people invovled), then I can be the life of the party. Other times I'll be shy and won't participate much. Those are the times when I come home and think about all of the stupid things I said or did. Parties where I hardly know anyone are the worst. I don't understand how people enjoy them. I find them painful beyond words.
