I did the whole thing (on a small scale - 75 guests) for my second marriage - the first was just a jp. We just considered it a good excuse to have a heckofa big party. Food (not sit down), open bar (the bartender was amazing - order once and the next time by the time someone got to him the drink was fixed.). And an Irish band.

We didn't follow the rules - we just wanted to have fun.
