I'm so sorry. Official rejection is not a great thing. It must be hard to deal with, when you're already feeling down. I hope you'll keep posting, though, and let us help you, if our replies help.
Would you really have preferred to get a letter saying that they didn't like you? Personally, that would be pretty hard for me to take. I much prefer the polite dismissal. But of course, I much prefer just getting the job. And I hope you will have that pleasure soon.
