There is a little book, I think the title is "The Wit and Wisdom of Mark Twain" that contains many interesting such things. I don't remember if that story is in it, but it's a very fun book.
I also like many of the lines from the movie "The Princess Bride". One of my favorites that is transferable into one's daily life is "Truly, you have a dizzying intellect". There have been SO many people in my life to whom I would have loved to say that.
I guess that you just have to keep your eyes and ears open.
