They do curl into a ball. Seems humans aren't the only ones with defense mechanisms, huh? But, I'd prefer not to humanize spiders because I don't feel a bit guilty killing the buggers and won't in the future. I'm just waiting until the day that one jumps up after I try to smash it and lands in my face. Oh, I'll be in the psych ward for quite a while. I highly doubt I'll ever fully recover from that one. Also, spiders don't have friends. They don't travel together. They travel alone. Don't EVER say that there would be more than one of them in a house at the same time. Cockroaches, yes I could see that. Spiders, no. They don't have friends, they don't have babies, they don't have parents. They are loners. They're like cowboys, only without a horse. And they don't breed either. Somehow they just appear. It's a mystery... I'll tell you, for $$ :)

Yet another serious phobia of mine is heights.

*Ok, now this is where it gets odd. I'm so terrified of heights, I can't step up on a step ladder to change a light bulb. I can't walk up a ladder on a slide, but I adore roller coasters. I was so ill on the Eiffel Tower that I had to move towards the center and I could not look towards the edge. I ended up getting sick in the bathroom. I'm fine as long as I don't close my eyes (because you can feel things moving high up) and if I don't look over the edge. But, if you are traveling, you just HAVE to go, you know. At least to tell yourself you did it. I can go to the top, I just can not look over the edge or look down, or close my eyes. It seems that I'm worse at distances closer to the ground (like a few feet) or several stories.

Maybe I really should take up my pdoc on his offer to "cure" me of this.

*Hmm... What does your Pdoc look like? I may be a bit suspicious of his approach! It may involve the approach where he would continuously show you pictures of spiders until you were OK with seeing it then introduce you to actual spiders. Forget that! I'd rather live in fear!
