Ditto on the info from Susan.
I have found my employer to be very supportive with myself and others regarding mental health issues. This has included substance abuse isssues that I have known some co-workers to have dealt with.
EAP is a good start.
Normally, Nursing Boards do not become involved unless you are found to be "impaired" in patient care (endangerment, etc..), diverting meds, and other really "big deal" issues... even then, there are programs in place to allow you to seek treatment and get well.
As a R.N. --- if you don't take care of yourself, you certainly can't take care of others.
Nurses get sick, too.
