Since my own foot spends so much time in my mouth I usually give my doctors at least 3 really stupid comments before I get upset with them. It cuts down on turnover tremendously.
The thing that struck me reading your post was the expression "good little girl". It's one I have used about myself but it really mocks other people's expectations that you be blindly obedient. Especially the kind of expectations that some doctors have about their patients. Since you say that you told her you doubted your diagnosis, I wonder if she was trying to be supportive of you - by pointing out the pressure we are under to just do what we're told - to be a "good little girl" while trying to say she didn't expect that from you.
Finally, I want my doctor to tell me when they don't agree with another doctors actions. I hate having to read between the lines.
