Hi noa,
You aren't overgeneralizing--there's an entire chapter about what you said in this book I'm reading about the narcissistic personality (and how they are often in the public eye).
What you said is true. I had hoped this relationship would result in my expressing more of myself, not more self-hatred which it has instead.
Problem is I never had such a great life prior to him, so it's easy to do that self-judging. But I guess I was trying. I was actually in one of the better places in my life when I first met up with him again.
