Way to go, Judy. I don't know of anything other than what she suggested but support you 1000000000% in holding on to your little buddy. A story of my own. We now have the home we bought last year because of our cats. We were renting a house and our landlord discovered we had 7 cats rather than the 2 that we started out with 'in the rental agreement'. He gave us an ultimatum - get rid of 5 of the cats and we could stay, otherwise get our fannies out in 90 days. I was very sick at the time, couldn't work anymore and stressed to the max, my husband was just told of his impending layoff, had major debts and couldn't qualify for a home loan, had a massive amount of stuff to sort through, and knew we couldn't rent with 7 cats. In short, it was a horrible time for this to happen. But get rid of our cats??!! And who would take 5 grownup utterly bonded to their people cats? We would live out on the street, all of us in cardboard boxes, before getting rid of one of them. People just don't understand. A cat is not 'just a cat', a loved cat is family and sometimes closer than family. So somehow we mobilized every ounce of willpower, prayer, affirmation, intention, and ooomph, and we made our present beautiful home in the country happen - within 60 days we were moved in. We're both not working, but somehow by the grace of Spirit, we're paying our mortgage and no stinkin' landlord can tell us what to do.

I tell you this because maybe Spirit is telling you to find another place. It may seem impossible from where you're at right now. I know you're going through some difficult times. But maybe little Sam is the your furry vehicle to get out from the under the tyranny of the Wheelchair Brigade. Perhaps buying a place is out of the question, but there have to be other options than being at the mercy of meanies. Work with your doctor and start putting it out there. It's amazing the miracles we can accomplish when someone we dearly love is endangered.
