My mother gave me the industry CBT book called.."mind over mood"..its is a bit stale but its a tried and tested in the "priory" ..

reading it on it own can be very hard if you have difficulty keeping your mind on anything..although you get two versions...one for the patient and one for the Pdoc..cant remember which I had...

cant really say if it would help you just as a book..seeing as I had weekly help so I could skip doing major bits..like the tedious self assesment.

it did help me greatly ..by using logic and reason to help one become more self aware of how ones own imagination and attitude can disrupt and make a bigger hole..

I would say that having good CBT provides a good practical way to evaluate your inner processes in relation to outer event while your brains transmissions may be producing reactions and crazy ideas..

I was in a very..verryy low cog state..having problems going outside..taping metal sheets to the windows to keep out light..seeing everybody in the street as a threat ..very bad memory and awareness..

Those CBT strategies let me have a bellyfull by seeing how silly a state i had got to regarding mental processes...
