Krazy Kat,
Thank you for your interest in this discussion. I want to answer the most important question that you have first, and that is whether or not I believe in the cessation of psychotropic drugs.
I beleive , first, that just about all of the people that are suffering from these afflictions want to overcome them. And I believe that we all have that destiny. I believe that there is a way to overcome these afflictions and I believe that ,and I will have to explain this later, that your affliction is a GIFT and that you will one day count it as a great joy!
Now to answer your question, I have known thousands of people that have overcome these afflictions. Some tossed their drugs in the garbage can right away, and some kept taking them untill they had the power to overcome without them. I spoke to a man that was drinking for 5 years a case of beer a day. When he started his Road to overcomming, he could not stop drinking right away. After 2 years, he had stopped all beer. He now follows a new path and has stopped drinking altogether.
I know a man that was taking multiple neuroleptic drugs for years and decieded that he wanted to go on a new road. He could not stop taking the neuroleptics immediatly. But as he received new light, he took less and less of them under a doctors supervision and finally was free from them. After 2 years, he was healed. I also know of a case where the person was taking 3 drugs and reduced it to just one, and is still taking the one. Perhaps he will have to take it for the rest of his life. But he is a new person. I know a person that takes Zyprexz, Paxil, and Risperdol. He was, unfoutianatly, severly damaged from the older drugs given in the 50's and 60's. He has to take them for the rest of his life. But he is a new person. I am not advising anyone to quit their drug unless they have their doctors supervision to do so.
Thanks agian for your interest,
Lou
