In reply to Mourning before Worrying about Actions..., posted by Krazy Kat on September 12, 2001, at 10:50:18
I'm not a mother. But I am a sister and a daughter and a friend. If I had someone killed in this horrendous act, I don't know if I could survive -- it would just overwhelm me. I don't personally know anyone, and this is about to overwhelm me. I don't know that I can forgive those who are behind this. Hell, I can't forgive a couple of people in my life who have caused me some pain many years ago.
But I personally -- and I don't expect this from anyone else, would love to see it, but don't expect it -- I can't seek revenge -- I can't go for the eye for an eye. I just don't see that as the solution. Then it becomes another eye for an eye and so on and so on and so on.
I'm terribly grieved. I'm terribly shocked.
Your put it well -- we need to mourn before we worry about actions.
