Hi Dinah,

most likely it meant that they thought you were nearly psychotic in your behavior, thoughts, and/or inappropriate moods and they thought it was due to schizophrenia spectrum disorder with early onset.

i think the best for you would be to ask this question to Dr.Heller at AskTheDoctor@BiologicalUnhappiness.com

you can also try to find the DSM-II which was used at the time and see if you find your diagnosis there.
