She has actually been banned from some libraries. I don't exactly understand why, perhaps because her fiction paints reality. I guess some people aren't comfortable with children and reality. In stages that each child is capable of understanding and dealing with I don't think this is a bad thing. Though I read her books when I was younger, perhaps it isn't should a good thing? (bad joke - not fair to Ms. Blume)
