My husband says I do the same thing with tomatoes. (I usually do the cooking, but when he makes himself a sandwich, he does the tomato thing.) He doesn't throw a wobbly or anything, but he insists there is a Right Way and a Wrong Way. To me, the wrong way to slice a tomato would be to cut out the core and only use that part :-)

I cut tomatoes whichever way is easiest. I don't do the nice-looking-restaurant-quality slice because the tomato rolls around too much and I don't want to cut my finger by mistake.
