Whoa, this thread took me back. I wouldn't go through high school again if my life depended on it. Although life can be difficult afterwards, somehow its never quite as bad high school.

I just went through something at work with some girls talking about me. Although this was in your don't column, I would go up to them, sit down and say, "Hey, what are yall talking about?" -with a big grin on my face! I just kept butting in all the time, and I know it was driving them crazy. After a while it got old though.

Luckily some other people came back after a summer layoff we have at work, and I just started hanging out with them. The funny thing is, the same girls try so hard to talk and be nice to me now. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, I started hanging out with the 'popular' group (in their opinion). It just goes to show you some people never really leave high school, which is really just sad.

I'm glad you stood up for yourself. That's more than I ever did in high school. I guess we just handle these situations the best we know how to at the time.
